ArMa travels - South Africa

We're heading south... again... on a trip that will take Marie down memory lane and introduce Arnaud to a country he's been wanting to visit for a while. The ultimate goal is to find the little boy Marie is force-feeding! As with our trip to South America (http://gonesouth120.blogspot.com), we decided to keep a blog and share our experiences. Although different from a 4-month trip... we still hope to entertain you! Enjoy! SA... here we come!

Boy Found and Pretoria

We're coming home... We believe to have found the little boy... his name is Solomon... and sadly, Mike might be right, he may have been killed. So our quest is already over, we could come home, but have decided to stay!
Yesterday we just walked to Church Square, had a sandwich and then met up with Michael Board (Mike from now on - no longer Fontein). Catching up after 10 years has been great and so natural.

Meeting Tannie Jos and Oom Clyde in the evening happened in exactly the same way. They haven't changed a bit. Everything was as though I'd never left at all.

The Jacarandas are in bloom, the sun is shining brightly and we're very happy.

Today we're going to meet up with Mike again, he's gonna drive us around a little more and show us a bit of the night scene of Pretoria students.

Mama & Tan - Tannie Jos and Oom Clyde send a big hello. They have all our details now and say they're planning to visit Lesley next July - so hopefully you might get to see them soon too! Let's hope. x x

Vigi - no serious marital issues so far, although our fellow passengers on the plane would have appreciated you sitting between us ;o) Missing you! Wish you were here! Kisses

Annie - We'd love to see Botswana as well (we have another friend there too), but indeed it's a little out of the way. Let's go there together sometime - failing this... Greece could do just fine... x

Hello M & A,
All this makes me very nostalgic but it's nice to see that not everything has changed. Pretoria is still "my town". Michael has changed, but I believe it is him because he has a definite "air de famille" with Lesley. Oom Clyde, on the other hand, has not changed a bit.
Such a pity about Solomon. Now that his name is mentionned, I do remember, but I still do not know who's baby he was. If you have not found out yet, your quest is not over and you HAVE to stay. You can do other things as well...
Enjoy !!! XXX Mommy
